Change Maker Scholarship · Haiti

For the students building change.

One of our core values is finding and supporting people who are making a difference in their own lives and the lives of the people around them. The Change Maker Scholarship is open to high school and college students in Haiti who are willing to step outside their comfort zone and bring about change in their communities.

Eligibility

Who can apply

  • High school or college student in Haiti
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service or change-making — formal or informal
  • Service-oriented mindset and a clear sense of where you want to grow
  • Able to provide two references (teacher, mentor, employer, community leader)

We're more interested in your trajectory than your starting point. If you're not sure whether you qualify, apply anyway — we'll let you know.

What it covers

The scholarship supports three areas.

School fees

Tuition, registration, and required school fees for the academic year.

Books & supplies

Required textbooks, notebooks, and basic study materials.

Stipend

A modest stipend to cover transportation and small day-to-day costs that get in the way of school attendance.

Final amounts vary by recipient based on need and the cost of their school. We work with each student individually.

FAQ

Change Maker questions.

Do I have to be a top-ranked student to apply?

No. Grades matter, but we care more about your story, your service, and your direction. A strong essay outweighs a perfect transcript.

Can I apply more than once?

Yes. If you applied before and didn't receive the scholarship, you're welcome to apply again the following cycle. Tell us what changed since your last application.

Do I need to write the essay in English?

English, French, or Haitian Creole are all welcome. Write in the language that lets you say what you actually mean.

How is the scholarship paid?

School fees are paid directly to the school. Stipends are disbursed monthly via a method we'll arrange with each recipient.
